Supervision For Counsellors and Psychotherapists

I offer supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists in Cheadle, Cheshire.

Whether you are a therapist or counsellor having supervision is not only a requirement but a valuable and precious gift to yourself and your clients.

A safe, supportive space

I aim to create a safe, supportive space free from judgement and where you can explore the issues that your clients bring to you and that are coming up for you whilst working with them.

Sometimes you may not know what is coming up for you with a client. You might need to think out loud in order to connect with them. I offer you a contained space to do this.

At other times you may need more direct guidance with a client or may have counter transferential issues that you need to work through. We will do that together at your pace, always focusing on your aims for the work.

Different folks, different strokes

It does not matter what modality you are working with. You could be a person centred therapist, gestalt, or any other modality.

We will work collaboratively to support both you and your clients so you can enjoy your work as a therapist and continue to add real value to the lives of the clients you are working with.

The sum is greater than the parts

My work with both clients and therapists draws on my knowledge and training in Transactional Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Imago Relationship Therapy.

These modalities mould together beautifully in so many ways. Along with your own knowledge and working style, they will allow us to explore the issues your clients bring to you and you bring yourself from lots of different angles.

This gives you freedom and a potential for new insight in your work.

I am a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (PTSTA). I am qualified to work with Certified Transactional Analysts and trainees. I also have a Certificate in Supervision from the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy.

Couples work very welcome

I am a Certified Imago Relationship Therapy supervisor, qualified to take you through the supervision section of the Imago Clinical training. As a Faculty Associate I also deliver the full Clinicial Training in Imago Relationship Therapy.

I've been working with couples as part of my therapy practice for many years. I have regular and extensive training and supervision in the field. My learning does not stop and I would hope to share both the theory and practice with you as we work together.

If you are working with couples on a regular basis or if this is one area of practice that you are looking to build confidence in and build into your work then I'd love to help you with that.

Working with couples brings up all sorts of challenges you simply don't get with individual work. Together we can create space so you can ask questions, explore your thoughts and fears and develop as a professional.
